Consumer electronics are carefully engineered to survive standard office environments and slight accidental mishandling. Rugged tactical hardware is brutally designed to execute mission critical code flawlessly while deeply submerged in muddy water, aggressively baking in desert sun, and violently bouncing inside the steel hull of an armored transport vehicle. Validating this survival requires extremely intense, explicit environmental chamber testing, fundamentally modeled strictly on exhaustive military standards.
