Canopy production is an exercise in disciplined repeatability. The airfoil is fixed by design, but the finished article is only as consistent as the fabric lot, the thread tension, the needle choice, the stitch class, and the rigger and inspector pair doing the work. A canopy that flies slightly differently from its sibling because a supervisor chose the nearest spool of thread is not a canopy problem. It is a production control problem.

Traceability is the other discipline. A canopy can live twenty years across many packers, jumpmasters, and riggers. The record from fabric bolt through acceptance, through every repack and inspection, should follow the serial number and survive organizational change. We build that record as part of the canopy, not as a filing exercise attached to it later.
